FAQ

What voltage levels do you handle for overhead and underground power lines?

We handle installations of overhead and underground power lines from 0.4 kV (low-voltage) up to 110 kV (high-voltage), including medium-voltage networks, substations and transformation stations.

How do you ensure safety and reliability when working on high-voltage (HV) installations?

We maintain rigorous safety protocols, using certified HV equipment, trained personnel and proper isolation procedures. Our vehicles and mobile equipment (such as telescopic boom trucks) and testing instruments (such as 5 kV megohmmeters) are maintained in line with standards.

How does the process work for connecting a renewable energy producer to the distribution network?

For a renewable energy producer (such as photovoltaic or wind), we manage the full process: design of the connection to the grid (RED), installation of necessary substations or switchgear, protection and metering systems, commissioning and handover. We ensure compliance with grid operator requirements and standards for medium and high-voltage networks.

How is lighting public infrastructure (street lighting) integrated with low-voltage networks and how can green energy be leveraged?

Street lighting installations are typically served by low-voltage (0.4 kV) networks. To integrate green energy, we can supply LED lighting fed by on-site photovoltaics with battery backup, or tie the lighting feed into a larger solar PV installation. The company offers public lighting services and green-energy projects (photovoltaics) so we can structurally integrate them.

What are the typical technical considerations for integrating a solar PV power plant into an existing medium-voltage network?

Key technical considerations include: determining the appropriate transformer size and impedance so as not to adversely affect voltage drop or flicker on the medium-voltage (MV) network; ensuring protection coordination between generator, transformer and grid; reactive power management to maintain acceptable power factor; compliance with grid codes for MV injection; and integration of monitoring/SCADA where required. As a company, we have the capability to execute substations, MV switchgear and full PV plant installation.

When installing a photovoltaic plant, what are the key factors for grid connection compliance in medium voltage?

Key factors include: the plant’s rated output (must align with network capacity); power factor and reactive power capabilities; anti-islanding protection; synchronization controls; harmonics limits; fault-ride-through capability; and cable/transformer sizing. Our firm has experience in executing grid-connected PV plants (for example a 1.3 MW plant) which implies familiarity with these requirements.

What maintenance services do you provide for electrical installations in industrial or non-residential settings?

We provide maintenance services for electrical installations for non-residential clients: inspections of low, medium and high-voltage systems; testing of insulation resistance; thermographic inspections of switchgear; preventive maintenance of transformers, switchboards, protection relays; and repair or upgrade services.

How does your company implement renewable energy systems (solar or wind) in combination with standard electrical network infrastructure?

We design and execute renewable energy systems such as photovoltaic panels and wind farms, and integrate them into existing network infrastructure: this includes the design of generation units, connection equipment, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protective devices, grid-connection controls, and monitoring. By combining our expertise in MV/HV networks and green energy generation, we deliver holistic solutions (for instance, PV plants and wind installations).
